What exactly is an AI OS?

Think of how macOS or Windows loads your files, your apps and your preferences the moment you log in. You do not tell it who you are every morning, it already knows. An AI Operating System does the same thing for an AI session.

Without one, each tool starts from zero every time you open it and you re-explain your business forever. With one, the work compounds.

Which AI tools does this work with?

The guide is built around Claude Code, because that is what Navid runs his own business on and it gives you the most leverage today. The structure itself is deliberately tool-agnostic. Your context, voice and workflow files are plain files you own, so they work with Codex or Gemini today and carry over when a better model arrives.

If you are prompting well but starting from scratch in every session, this is the part you are missing. The kit is not about better prompts, it is about the system underneath them. Most people who already use AI daily finish the setup and find the compounding starts immediately, because their context is finally written down somewhere the agent reads on its own.

What do I need on my computer?

A laptop, an AI agent you already use, and a text editor. Many people open the workspace in Obsidian for the markdown, but any editor works. Claude Code is included with the Claude Pro plan, which is enough for almost everyone starting out. You do not need the Max plan.

Do I need coding experience?

No. The agent handles the technical work. Your job is to describe what you want and review what it builds. The guide is written for non-technical creators and founders and walks through every step.

Does this only work with Claude Code?

No. Your AI OS is a folder of plain markdown files that you own, so any agent that can read a folder can run on it. Claude Code, Codex and Gemini all read the same context, the same voice rules and the same workflows. The walkthroughs use Claude Code because that is what Navid runs his own business on and it gives you the most leverage today. Nothing in the structure is locked to it, which is the point: when a better model arrives you point it at the same folder instead of starting again. That is also the difference between this and any agent's official documentation. The docs explain what each feature does. This shows you how to set the whole thing up and run a real business on it, with defaults that work out of the box.

Do you keep it updated?

How do I install the AI OS Starter Kit?

You run 1 command. It copies the workspace folder to your machine, makes it a git repo of your own, and opens your agent inside it. Then you run /onboard. It reads your real writing, asks 12 questions one at a time, and writes your context files for you. Your agent reads them at the start of every session from then on.

How long does it take to set up?

The install is 1 command. The setup interview takes about 15 minutes. You can stop partway through. Every answer is saved the moment it lands, and running /onboard again continues from where you stopped.

How is an AI OS different from a prompt library?

Accepted Answer

A prompt library is a drawer of instructions you go and fetch. You still have to remember which prompt to use and paste your context in every time. An AI OS is loaded before you ask for anything. Your voice, your offers and your customers are already in the session, so the agent starts from your business instead of from nothing. Prompts sit on top of an AI OS, they do not replace it.

What should I build first?

Start with the thing you rewrite most often. For most creators that is content in their own voice, and for most founders it is customer replies or a weekly brief. Build that one workflow, run it for a week, then add the next. An AI OS grows by use rather than by planning.

Why is it free? What is the catch?

Accepted Answer

There is no catch. The kit is the free entry point to the way Navid works, and the people who get value from it are the ones who later come to the AI OS Workshop to build the full system live.

You are not required to buy anything, and the kit is not crippled to push you into it. It is the real workspace, and plenty of people run it for months without spending a cent.

What happens to my email address?

You get the kit, and then Navid's emails about building and running an AI OS. Nothing else. Your address is never sold or shared, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe that works immediately.

Does my business data leave my computer?

Accepted Answer

The workspace is a folder of files on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded to us and we never see what you write in it. Your agent reads those files the same way it reads any other folder you open, so the only thing that leaves your machine is what you choose to send to your own AI provider under your own account.

I have tried AI tools before and stopped. Why would this stick?

Because most people quit for the same reason: every session starts from nothing, so the effort never accumulates and it always feels like starting over. An AI OS fixes exactly that.
